Cervical Disc Herniation Hillsborough, California

Cervical disc herniation is an agonizing condition affecting the neck and spine. It occurs when one of the discs between the vertebrae in the neck bulges or ruptures, putting pressure on nearby nerves and causing immense pain. Unfortunately, Hillsborough, California residents are no strangers to this affliction. Fortunately, there are effective treatments available that can help reduce symptoms and provide relief.

First and foremost, rest is essential for any form of cervical disc herniation. Taking a break from strenuous activities and avoiding heavy lifting can help alleviate tension on the affected area while promoting natural healing within the body. Additionally, applying ice packs or heating pads may also be beneficial in reducing inflammation.

Moreover, medications such as non-steroidal anti-inflammatory drugs (NSAIDs) and muscle relaxers can help to ease discomfort associated with cervical disc herniation as well. However, these should only be taken under doctor's orders since they could potentially cause further damage if used improperly. Also, certain gentle stretching exercises might be recommended by a professional to improve range of motion without putting too much strain on the spine.

Above all else though, surgery remains an option for those whose neck pain persists despite other forms of treatment. While it is not always necessary for cervical disc herniation cases, surgical intervention may become necessary if nerve roots have been seriously damaged or if conservative methods fail to bring relief after some time has passed. Nonetheless, consulting with a trusted physician is always advised before making any major medical decisions regarding surgery or anything else related to one's health and wellbeing.

In conclusion, there are numerous ways of treating cervical disc herniation here in Hillsborough, California ranging from simple home remedies like rest and cold compresses all the way up to more invasive options like medication or surgery when necessary. Nevertheless it is important to remember that prevention is key when it comes to taking care of your neck and spine; so make sure you practice proper posture while sitting at your desk or engaging in physical activity!

About Hillsborough, California

Hillsborough is located on the Rancho San Mateo Mexican land grant which was purchased by William Davis Merry Howard, son of a wealthy Hillsborough, New Hampshire, shipping magnate, in 1846. Howard settled his family in this area, which attracted wealthy San Franciscans. On May 5, 1910, Hillsborough residents voted to incorporate. From the town's foundation until 1963, it was an exclusive community for wealthy whites. In 1963, Jack and Betty Ken, the first-generation children of Chinese Immigrants, purchased land in the town. This made them the first non-white people to own land in the town, effectively desegregating Hillsborough.
